Actually, airport security wasn't the problem ... it was Ryanair's luggage policy (you know, max 2 oz for any single bag. Also, the toaster over in the carry-on was far more troublesome to transport.). This blog post made it all worth it!

In our first visit to Europe we spent the first few weeks on the continent and finished in London. I looked forward to London after those weeks wrestling with foreign languages: Won't it be nice to speak English! It was BUT they were still stuck with pounds, shillings and pence, so we were still confused -- and of course they drove on the wrong side of the road.
