Back to School!
The university starts classes on Monday, so it’s time to get back to work. Eric starts his classes with the History Department, and I will be working in the Linguistics Department. I’ll be teaching advanced English speaking and writing, thanx 2 my mad skilz as a native English speaker.
My students will already have several years of studying English, so I’m glad that I’m not teaching them any grammar. Props to anyone who can tell me (without looking it up like I had to) what the "second conditional" is and explain the differences between a participial and prepositional postmodifier. Since I can only vaguely remember grade sentence diagramming, I bought a book about advanced grammar so I can speak intelligently. For anyone suffering from insomnia, this would be an excellent cure. It’s more fun to watch School House Rock videos, but these students are way beyond “Conjunction Junction, What’s Your Function?”
